BrettlJausn Limited (registered in England & Wales, company number 17325293) and BrettlJausn Pty Ltd (ACN 695 372 304) (together “BrettlJausn”, “we”, “us”) respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect across this website, our advisory engagements and our products, why we collect it, how we handle it, and the rights you have over it.

1 · Who we are

BrettlJausn is an independent AI advisory and software studio for logistics, manufacturing and supply chain businesses. We deliver AI assessment and strategy engagements, build and implement the software that follows, and operate our own product, bikeryOS. The group trades through two entities — BrettlJausn Limited, incorporated in England & Wales, and BrettlJausn Pty Ltd, incorporated in Australia. The entity contracting a given engagement is named in the applicable Offer Document or SOW and is the controller for personal information processed under it; for information collected through this website, the entities act as joint controllers. For our products, the controller/processor relationship depends on the service and is set out in the relevant product terms and any Data Processing Agreement (DPA).

2 · What we collect

We aim to collect only what we need. Depending on how you interact with us, that may include:

  • Contact details you provide — name, email address, company and the content of any message you send us (for example, by emailing contact@brettljausn.ai).
  • Engagement information — details necessary to scope, deliver and invoice an advisory engagement, as described in the applicable Offer Document or SOW.
  • Product account data — where you use one of our products, the account, configuration and usage data needed to provide that product (see §5).
  • Technical data — basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) generated automatically when you visit this website, used for security and reliability.
  • Chat assistant data — if you use the on-site chat assistant, we store the conversation, your browser/device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this to understand visitor interest and improve our products and services; it is summarised into an internal daily brief and then retained only for a limited period.

This website does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers (see §11).

3 · How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide the services or products you request.
  • To manage and deliver advisory engagements, including billing.
  • To operate, secure, maintain and improve our website and products.
  • To meet our legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.

4 · Legal bases

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to deliver services and products you have engaged us for); legitimate interests (to respond to enquiries, secure our systems and improve our offering, balanced against your rights); consent (where required, for example certain communications); and legal obligation (to comply with applicable law). Where the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, we handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5 · Product data

Our product processes data specific to its purpose, and has its own in-product privacy information and, where relevant, a Data Processing Agreement:

  • bikeryOS processes the operational data a dealer puts into it — inventory, sales, workshop, CRM and purchasing records — on behalf of the dealer (our customer), who is the controller of that data.

Where we build or operate software for you under an engagement, we process only the data that software requires, on your instructions and under the terms agreed for that engagement. We may previously have provided other products to you; where we did, the privacy terms accepted at the time continue to govern that data until it is deleted or returned.

Where we process personal data on your behalf as a processor, we do so only on your documented instructions and under an appropriate DPA.

6 · Sharing & processors

We share personal information only as needed to run our services, and only with sub-processors bound by appropriate contractual safeguards. These may include cloud hosting providers (EU-hosted where stated), Anthropic (Claude AI, which powers the assistant on this site), and payment/invoicing providers used for engagement billing. Information may also be shared between the two BrettlJausn entities named in §1 for the purposes described in this policy. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, and to a successor entity in connection with a corporate transaction, subject to this policy.

7 · International transfers

Where personal data is handled by BrettlJausn Pty Ltd (incorporated in Australia), that entity may be a “third country recipient” under the EU/UK GDPR. Where personal data is transferred from the EU/EEA or UK to us or our sub-processors, we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism — Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), or another mechanism agreed in writing — together with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.

8 · Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, to provide the relevant product or service, and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Engagement records are retained in line with our professional and statutory obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Confidentiality obligations relating to engagements survive for five (5) years after the engagement ends.

9 · Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Where the GDPR applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in Australia, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@brettljausn.ai.

10 · Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss — including encryption in transit, access controls, and data minimisation by design. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a personal data breach affecting you, we will act and notify in accordance with applicable law.

11 · Cookies & local storage

This marketing website uses only strictly necessary, functional storage — there are no third-party advertising or analytics cookies and no cross-site tracking. Specifically:

  • Language preference (bj_lang cookie) — remembers the language you’re viewing so we don’t re-detect it on every visit. Set when you choose a language or on first visit based on your browser/approximate location.
  • Pricing region (bj_region cookie) — remembers which regional currency our fee is shown in (pound sterling, euro or Australian dollar), so we don’t re-detect it on every visit. Set on your first visit from the approximate country derived from your IP address.
  • Chat session (browser sessionStorage) — a short-lived identifier that groups the messages of a single chat with our assistant; it is cleared when you close the tab.

Because these are strictly necessary for functionality you have requested, they are generally exempt from prior-consent requirements under EU/UK ePrivacy rules. Our products may use their own essential cookies (for example, to keep you signed in); these are described within each product.

12 · Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page; please review it periodically.
